The Ohio State University Spring 2025 Corrosion Course
Registration is now open for the Ohio State University Corrosion Short Course being held online April 28-May 2, 2025.
This course, entitled “Corrosion: Fundamentals and Experimental Methods”, will be offered in online, with live synchronous video lectures and lab demonstration.
The course will cover the fundamentals of corrosion and various electrochemical techniques. Lectures and laboratories will be used to illustrate how electrochemical techniques are applied, when they should be used, and how the various techniques can be integrated to solve complex problems. The course will be useful for people entering the corrosion field and for professionals looking for a refresher course.
The instructors are Dr. Gerald Frankel, Dr. Jenifer Locke, and Rudy Buchheit.

Jenifer Locke
is Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at OSU. She came to OSU in 2015 and performs research in corrosion & environment-assisted cracking. |
Rudy Buchheit
is the Dean of the University of Kentucky College of Engineering. Prior he, was the associate dean for academic affairs and admiin of the College of Engineering at OSU. |

Online Delivery
Students must attend and complete all live sessions in order to obtain a certificate of completion. The course will be taught by Dr. Gerald Frankel and Dr. Jenifer Locke from the department of Materials Science and Engineering and also Dr. Rudy Buchheit, Dean of the College of Engineering, University of Kentucky.
