Abstract

The super-hydrophobic surface with the self-propelled droplet jumping behavior has a promising application prospect in the field of atmospheric corrosion protection. Researchers have been devoted to realizing the self-propelled droplet jumping behavior by regulation of environmental and structure parameters. Unfortunately, these studies results are still lacking obviously. Herein, we facile fabricate the super-hydrophobic surface with high-aspect-ratio nanorod arrays by simple hydrothermal modification technique. The basic characteristics of the prepared surface are described by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometer, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and contact angle meter. In addition, the self-propelled droplet jumping behavior is observed and the behavior is analyzed by energy conservation and evaluated by droplet surface coverage. On this basis, the atmospheric corrosion protection performance of the surfaces is measured by electrochemical test. This work provides a new fabricate method and design strategy of super-hydrophobic surfaces with self-propelled droplet jumping behavior and excellent atmospheric corrosion protection performance.
